With my birthday less than one week away my parents and siblings are bombarding me with questions about what they should get me (apparently I’m difficult to shop for, who knew?). I’ve compiled this list from items I’ve had my eye on for some time, want to try, and need to expand in my collection. I even kept in mind my father’s cluelessness in the shopping department, and sister’s adoration for anything in the environment of makeup. I tried to keep it relatively decent in the price range, but some of these could be considered a minor splurge (which, if you ask me, is what a birthday is all about!). While I’d love a new dress or pant’s suit, and a matching hat to wear for my birthday dinner, I also would be just as happy with a few dainty heartfelt pieces too. After all, it’s the thought that counts, right?

White blazer (old, similar here and nude here) / Vintage tee (go with Hanes’ men’s ones here, so comfortable!) / Aviator sunnies (similar here) / Red lipstick in Riveting / Pointed toe heels (old, similar on sale here)

I think every girl has items she just can’t live without, like a favorite bag or shoes and so on. But when I think of essentials I think the simple things, the building blocks of an outfit and the pieces that can top a look off. My go to pieces are always a blazer and tee – usually together. And, If I am being completely honest here, I am more than impartial to a red lip, so much so I have days when I wish I was born with blood red lips. Okay, maybe thats a bit of an exaggeration, but really, they are magical with how they make a look instantly glamorous. Another accessory I couldn’t drag myself to leave home without is my aviators, I will admit to even being that person who wears sunglasses at night. And heels. Don’t even get me started on those, you will never hear the end of it! I LOVE heels. More than love, if I could marry a pair of shoes I would marry a pair of black pointed-toe pumps. I’m legitimately head-over-heels in love with them, pun intended. I see essentials as pieces you can wear on a daily basis but they never get old, they’re timeless and simple, yet extraordinary. (See what I did there?)

White Wide Leg Pants / Scallop Top (similar here and here or REALLY expensive and gorgeous one here) / Vintage sunnies (similar here) / Anthropologie x BaubleBar necklace / Gladiator sandals (similar here and here) / Essie Bikini So Teeny Nail Polish / Old Pink Otterbox Phone Case

I wanted to quickly share the outfit I wore this past Saturday since I had comments on where to find the outfit pieces and jewelry! I had a very busy weekend between family, friends and errands, and over the next few weeks between grad parties and finals will be having more, so be aware that I may have more than a few “insta-outfit” posts – you’ll just have to forgive the iPhone quality and enjoy the shopping instead! And don’t forget to follow my Instagram to see these pieces and #bts first hand @ExtraordinaryFashionBlogger

*And a big thank you to Target for the full body mirror shot! (;
